There is just something about breakfast. Good, healthy breakfast. I can safely say breakfast is happiness, well immediately after coffee of course!
Changing my eating plan to low carb and healthy fats (will talk about it in the future) has made breakfast slightly difficult for me, sometimes- weekdays mostly -I do not know what to have for breakfast. I always need quick and easy breakfast to prepare. Trying to balance breakfast with good carbs, healthy fats and fruits during weekdays can be a bit of a challenge. But all is well now because of smoothie bowls.
Think of it as your normal smoothie, but slightly thicker.
I blended the following ingredients for my smoothie:
- 1 small avocado (if its big use half)
- 1 small banana
- 200 ml almond milk
- Whey protein powder (optional, I only used a teaspoon)
When it came to toppings I used:
- Chopped strawberries
- Mixed seeds
- Desiccated coconut
FYI: For the smoothie to have a bright green colour add spinach or spirulina powder.
